(1) the relief of sickness, poor heatth and okl age amongst peopl8 Iwing in North Oxfordshire by providing a local broadcasting service for hospitals, residential homes and similar instrtutions. and for patients recelwng community care,. and (2) the advancement of health and prevention or relief of sickness for the public benefit through the promotion of the benefits of liwng a healthy lifestyle, 8nd the importance of maintaining good personal mental and phywcal health by (mainly. but not exclusively) the means of broadcasb'ng health education n7essages to ople livin in North Oxfordshire Summary of tho objects of tho charity set out in Its governing document We continue with our community support at local events, providing music and public announcements services. In line with the strategic direction of the org8nisation, the Twstees, have expanded our focus towards community engagement. In 2025 Radio Horton's outside broadcast vehicle was deemed unroadworthy. The TwsÉees' agreed to scrap this trai18r and, with the help of generous donors, bought a new I>. Summary ofthe main activitle8 undertaken for the public bonefit in rèlation to thesè objects {includo wlthin this 8aCtion the statutory declaratlon that trustees hav• had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commlssion on publlc bonefit) Ward visiting continues to be highly successfvl thanks to a very dediGated lead volunteer and a gmwing te8m of supporting volunteers. Requests and interest from patients and staff at the hospital is much enhanced. Ward visiting plays a pivotal role in Radio Horton's seiCe offering and allows us Éo promote health, wellbeing & public infom7ation. During the year we were delighted to Install fvrther WIFI radios in various wards within the HortL)n General Hospital. The Trustees, in making decisit)ns about our broadcasts and direction, have had due regard to the commission's public benefit guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. We Guffently have approximately thity member volunteers and are gratefvl for the many hours contributed during the year in presenling programmes, ward visiting and many other activities necessary to prowde a broadcasting seniice. Wrthout this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not be able to pmvide our serwce. You may choose to indud& further statements. where relevant, about.. Several new volunteers joined Radio Horton dunng the reporting period, although some are yet to begin their involvement. Radio Horton provided music, entertainmènt and public address at several events held throughout the reporting period - see section D above. Events help the organisation to raise awareness of Radio Horton and hospital, health and wellbeing broadcasting, bul from a social P8rspe¢tive are also ideal for volunteers to meet one-anolher. Events brought in £1.965 during the period and include the Rotary Club of Banbury donation of £500, for our support at the Broughton Castle Cycling SportiV8.
