Objectives and Activities

Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	Para 1.17 and 1.19	The charity rescued a number of orphaned, injured or sick animals during the year. We have used social media of various kinds to provide awareness and education of animal welfare issues to our supporters and others who may read our social media. We have also provided animal welfare education and advice to members of the public who have attended our fundraising events. We have maintained an animal ambulance rescue service throughout the year, apart from a short period when our vehicle was in the garage for repairs.

Para 1.20	The charity has rescued 1000s big, injured or orphaned animals during period in question. Almost all British wildlife species are under threat and or or in decline for various reasons. Every creature we are able to rescue and rehabilitate contributes to restoring the environmental and ecological balance in our area which in turn is on benefit to society as a whole.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	OWR accounts are prepared on a receipts and payments basis as income is <£250k. The charity ended the year with a gross annual income of £169.9k and receipts, net of expenses totalling £157.5k. A total of £7.9k from the annual income of £169.9k related to restricted income. 78% of the income was generated from general unrestricted donations. 11% came from fundraising and the remaining 10% was from grants £7.2k, and £8.6k related to reclaiming gift aid from HMRC. Expenditure predominantly came from ongoing running costs and wages. A closing cash balance of £17.7k, an increase of £12.5k from the previous year end, comfortably covers identified creditors of £0.8k as at 31.03.23 Fixed assets capitalised and depreciated amounted to £18.1k written down value. Depreciation is calculated on a straight line basis, over 5 years for all assets. We have no freehold or leasehold property.
