The funds have been deployed to fund projects outlined in Para 1.20 and some of the funds will be used for projects in 2024.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	During fiscal year 2023, Icane received £7703.88 in funding from grants and donations. The charities two largest grantors were The National Lottery and Dacorum Council. Funding from grantors was primarily used to commemorate Windrush 75 and to provide an African drumming initiative throughout the borough. Icane accumulated £2701.32 in cash expenses during 2023. All expenses were used to deliver key events throughout the year such as Windrush 75 and those detailed in para 1.20.
Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held	Para 1.22	The charities year-end cash position was £5002.56. A portion of this money will be utilized in 2024 to deliver African drumming and dance lessons programmes throughout Hertfordshire. Icane will also continue to maintain a modest reserve for unexpected expenses. It should be noted, the charity does not have any non-cash assets that require funding or accumulates large expenses that have not already been match funded with specific grants received. The charity does not maintain a formal reserve policy, but a reserve will be maintained each year which is appropriately sized for the charities current and expected cost base in the preceding financial year.
