The accounts for the financial year 31 August 2022 have been prepared and give an indication of the financial position of the Pre-School during the last twelve months as well as the onward position for the coming financial year. As per the guidelines, the present position will require an independent examination prior to formal submission to the Charities Commission. Once published, they will be available on their website.
Results
The accounts show a total asset transfer of £60,690 from the old Preschool Charity 1037586.
Reserves policy
The trustees are committed to working towards holding a figure that would cover the cost of redundancy and building removal in the form of 'restricted reserves'. This is a long term goal which can be achieved by increasing the restricted reserve fund to meet the predicted costs when

Brant Broughton Preschool Joint AGM and EGM, Tuesday 24 May 2022
Report to Members
This meeting is held as a joint AGM (for CIO charity 1193900) and EGM (for unincorporated charity 1037586) due to the time it is taking to fully transfer our activities from the unincorporated charity to the CIO. This has been extended in part due to the slow progress of registration with the regulator, Ofsted, and the concurrent unavailability of our accountant to ensure transfer of assets and funds is managed correctly.
The charity has had a successful year and has finally completed the major elements of changing its structure to a CIO. There are still some loose ends to be tied up and this will be the focus of activity of the committee for the next few months. This will include finally dissolving the unincorporated charity (1037586) which was authorized by the membership at the 2021 AGM[1] .
With the change to a new Ofsted registration on 8[th] April 2022 comes the prospect of a ‘new setting’ inspection; the committee will continue to support the staff in order to ensure they have the resource to maintain the compliance of the setting with these statutory requirements.
More generally, the changes to the charity structure have enabled more flexibility in how the charity governance operates but no direct changes to the operation of the preschool. Indeed, the preschool functions incredibly well at present with thanks to our dedicated staff who are central to the preschool’s ongoing success.
In the coming year we will need to consider the ongoing state of our preschool building and begin planning for replacement. Our lease expires in Nov 2026 and it has been advised by Lincolnshire County Council representatives that the building, whilst entirely habitable and well-maintained for now, may need to be replaced prior to a new lease being issued. The committee will work to establish funding options and opportunities to continue the fantastic role this preschool plays in the local community.
