To advance in life and relieve needs of young people through:

- (a) Advancing education by providing bursaries to support disadvantaged children and young people to improve access to education and training opportunities for this cohort focusing on careers in Social Care, Healthcare and Community Engagement that provide specific support to disadvantaged children and young people.

(b) Relieving sickness by funding support to children and young people who have life threatening or limiting conditions. This may be because their current Healthcare Trust are unable to provide the treatment required and therefore getting treatment required may involve additional travel and treatment costs.
The main activities of the Foundation to date have focussed on initial fundraising and co-ordination with University of Hertfordshire to identify a number of suitable candidates who may be eligible to apply for The JAM Foundation bursary.

The policy on eligibility and award of bursaries by The JAM Foundation is set out in a Donation agreement between the JAM Foundation and the University of Hertfordshire.
The award is open to students who meet one of the following criteria:
- A young person aged 18-24 who meets the definition of careleaver as defined by Student Finance England

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The JAM Foundation was entered onto the Register of Charities on 19 March 2021.
During the year the charity raised £4,000 comprising 2 private donations which were received on 21 March 2022.
No bursaries were granted in the period to 31 March 2022
The JAM Foundation was confirmed as a Charity for tax purposes on 20 January 2022 with effect from 19 March 2021.

The Charity does not have any direct expenses or overheads, with the Brief statement of the only planned outgoings being the planned disbursement of Bursaries. charity’s policy on reserves Bursaries will be typically paid out prior to the academic year, with each Bursary being for £3,000
