(1) Maintain, improve and expand the
Online Corpus of the Inscriptions
of Ancient North Arabia hereafter known
as OCIANA or any successor or
other means of storing, cataloguing and
publishing data by the entry of
inscriptions and/or ancient and/or
mediaeval written documents and/or
rock art which are newly discovered or
which are already known but have
not yet been entered, together with
images of these inscriptions, written
documents and/or rock art together with
information which is as accurate
and precise as possible about their
provenance as well as all other
available information about the
inscriptions and/or ancient and/or
mediaeval written documents and/or rock
art.
(2) Create, support or maintain, improve
and expand digital databases or
other ways of storing, cataloguing and
publishing in an easily searchable
manner written material providing that
the written material is in languages
or scripts examples of which are found in
the Arabian Peninsula.
(3) Create, support or maintain, improve
and expand digital databases or
other ways of storing, cataloguing and
publishing in an easily searchable
manner rock art in the countries listed
PROVIDED THAT the rock art is
linked or in some way related to that of
the Arabian Peninsula by for
example but not exclusively inscriptions
associated with the rock art.
(4) Encourage promote and provide
facilities in the United Kingdom and
elsewhere in the world for the education
and training of suitable persons
in fieldwork research, the interpretation
and study of inscriptions and/or
other ancient and/or mediaeval written
material and/or rock art.
(5) Promote and carry out or assist in
promoting and carrying out
research, surveys and investigations and
publish or assist in publishing the
useful results thereof.
So far the Charity has been seeking
funds to carry out these objects.
