To advance academic research on the ancient inscriptions and languages and rock art found in the Arabian Peninsula and adjacent regions, providing that the inscription and/or written material is in a language or script examples of which are found in the Arabian Peninsula.

Objects: The Objects Of The Foundation Are: To Advance Public Education Throughout The World By Recording, Studying, Interpreting, Editing And Making Freely Available Online And/or In Print And/or By Any Other Method The Inscriptions And/or Ancient And/or Mediaeval Written Documents And/or Rock Art Found In The Arabian Peninsula And The Inscriptions And/or Ancient And/or Mediaeval Written Documents And/or Rock Art Of Similar Types To Those In The Peninsula Found In Countries Such As, But Not Limited To, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, And Egypt Or Items From One Or More Of These Countries Now In Museums Or Other Collections Elsewhere Providing That The Inscription And/or Written Material Is In A Language Or Script Examples Of Which Are Found In The Arabian Peninsula. In Furtherance Of The Said Objects But Not Otherwise The Foundation May:– (1) Maintain, Improve And Expand The Online Corpus Of The Inscriptions Of Ancient North Arabia Hereafter Known As Ociana Or Any Successor Or Other Means Of Storing, Cataloguing And Publishing Data By The Entry Of Inscriptions And/or Ancient And/or Mediaeval Written Documents And/or Rock Art Which Are Newly Discovered Or Which Are Already Known But Have Not Yet Been Entered, Together With Images Of These Inscriptions, Written Documents And/or Rock Art Together With Information Which Is As Accurate And Precise As Possible About Their Provenance As Well As All Other Available Information About The Inscriptions And/or Ancient And/or Mediaeval Written Documents And/or Rock Art. (2) Create, Support Or Maintain, Improve And Expand Digital Databases Or Other Ways Of Storing, Cataloguing And Publishing In An Easily Searchable Manner Written Material Providing That The Written Material Is In Languages Or Scripts Examples Of Which Are Found In The Arabian Peninsula. (3) Create, Support Or Maintain, Improve And Expand Digital Databases Or Other Ways Of Storing, Cataloguing And Publishing In An Easily Searchable Manner Rock Art In The Countries Listed Provided That The Rock Art Is Linked Or In Some Way Related To That Of The Arabian Peninsula By For Example But Not Exclusively Inscriptions Associated With The Rock Art. (4) Encourage Promote And Provide Facilities In The United Kingdom And Elsewhere In The World For The Education And Training Of Suitable Persons In Fieldwork Research, The Interpretation And Study Of Inscriptions And/or Other Ancient And/or Mediaeval Written Material And/or Rock Art. (5) Promote And Carry Out Or Assist In Promoting And Carrying Out Research, Surveys And Investigations And Publish Or Assist In Publishing The Useful Results Thereof.
