Provide and promote 3rtslculture/heritage through the organbsation of at least one yearly festival where the Brltlsh culture and the European culture, more speclflcally French, are put on display for people living in Readlng and the whole of Berkshire to enjoy. Offer local artist especially and international artist, partlcularly French, an opportunlty to put their talent on display and therefore Promotlng varlous forms of art at a International/nationallprofesslonal and local/amateur level, and provlding of arts facllltleslvenues and encouraglng hlgh standards of art. 'Art' Includes abstract, conceptual and performance art and representational anil flgurative art. Benefit the wider populations, aSthou8h French expatrlates and 8rovps of Frlends and familles from all background are most likely to be Interested by the entertalnment, cultural and cullnary offerln8 of the event. The event could not have happened without the donations in-kind in volunteer hours frorn our volunteers, and in crafting equiprnent from Hobbycraft as well 3S Sporting equipment from Decathlon. we are trylng to achieve despite our limited financial capacity come to us without empectlng payments or only travel expenses and accommodation and they travelled from France. Plans Now that we have organised our second festlval as a CIO we are hopin8 to be able to use our cumulated success of the year and improve our fundraising capacity and do rnore to promote the sharing of cultures by connecting with schoo15 and other potential partners to grow our reach beyond the month ofjuly. Financial review The Receipts and payments accounts Is attached. The charlty reports a positive balance of £22 for the year to 31 March 2021. Reserves policv The Executlve team has advlsed that the charlty should aim to have between 25% and 50% of the annual resources left after each Festival. At this level, the management committee feel that they would be able to contlnye the current actlvlties of the charlty in the event uf a slgnlllcant drop in funding. The charity has no reserye at the moment and rely on the generosity and promise of fundlng of the Executive Team and the Readin8'5 Economy & Destination Agency Iformeily known as Abbey Quarter Business Improvement DSstrSctl respectlvelv. Flnancial- The Festival has low levels of reserves and depends upon 8rants and donatlon from Executlve Team to delbver an events programme. Relation5hip5 are malntained wlth key stakeholders and appllcations for 8rants are made In good time to glve early indlcation of the level of expendllure events whlch can be achieved. No commltments are made If lunds are not in place to meet them. Events are also scalable. Per50nnel- The Festival ha5 a strong but small team of 3 trustees and 2 Executives at its core whose skills and time commitment as volunteers 55 the only guarantee to deliver an annual event5 programme. Succession planning is ron5idered on an ongoin8 basls and new volunteers are Introduced to Festival activltles to build up local support. Recrultment of new commlttee members Is a prSorlty. Aeputational The Festival is known for deliverlng good quallty and well organised events. Regular event planning meetlngs are held throu6hovt the year to provide opportunitles for discussion and checks on quality and a robust health and safety proces5 is in place. Ongoing government recommendations on Covid safety rnay continue to have an Impact on future event plan5.
