Statement of accounting policies

For year ended 30 June 2025

Basis of accounting

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Statement of Recommended Practice “Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP 2019)” applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in UK Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), effective 1 January 2019 and Companies Act 2006.

Preparation of the financial statements – going concern basis

The trustees have also reviewed the cash position of the charity and cash forecasts at the date of signing the financial statements and are satisfied the that the charity will be able to meet all of its financial commitments for at least twelve months from the date of the accounts.

Income

Income is recognised when the Charity have entitlement to the funds, any performance conditions attached to the items of income have been met, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.

Fund accounting

General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Board of Trustees in the furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.

Taxation

As a registered charity, Doncaster In Union and as such the charity within the meaning of schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010. Accordingly, the charity is entitled to tax exemption under part 11 of the Corporation Tax Act 2210 or section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 in respect of income and gains arising. Given this, no tax charge arises on the charity.

The charity does not have any trading subsidiaries.
