Para 1.17 | The objects of the CIO are for the benefit of the public generally and, in particular, the inhabitants of Yorkshire and its surrounding areas: 1. To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of rugby football and other sports capable of improving health ( “facilities” means land, buildings, equipment and organised sporting activities); and 2. To provide and assist in providing facilities for welfare sports, recreation or other leisure time occupation for such persons who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty and social or economic circumstances or for the general public in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life; and 3, to advance the education of children and young people through such means as the charity trustees think fit in accordance with the law of the charity. |

Doncaster In Union has been involved in the provision of facilities, activities and meals through the Half term Activity Fund (HAF) provided by the local authority; facilities to support the local community as part of the Sporting Memories initiative and support to a few local schools and colleges through coaching and equipment focused on teamwork and skills development. |

Para 1.20 | Over the period the club has delivered grant funded activity which has benefitted the local community, Half-term Activity Funding: Delivered on behalf of the local Council and includes the provision of food and activities to children who would normally qualify for free school meals. This has included, on average, the provision meals over the half-term breaks and supporting a summer camp for children. Sporting Memories: provided facilities and refreshments to the elderly in our local community encouraging conversations and reminiscences around specific sporting events. School Led Activity: Through our community development team we have provided support to a number of local schools and colleges, coaching based on rugby skills, teamwork and respect. All of these activities have been directly focused on improving the physical and mental health of our local community and promoting respect and citizenship in all we do. |
