PEN-Y-FFORDD AND FFYNNONGROYW CHILDCARE CIO Trustees annual report (continued) In line with the CIO'S purpose Pen-y-Ffordd and Ffynnongroyw playgroup offers childcare 11'.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday. We have become a vital part of the community offering parents a lifeline by providing quality childcare at a low cost. Our Servi allows children from a deprived area to attend Flying Start sessions for free. We provide childcare for children who are bNo years old and over, enabling children lo have the opportunity to develop social skills and interact with other children of their own age group. We also provide a large outdoor area including play equipment which helps to develop fine and gross motor skills as well as animal care with our resident chickens. Pen-y-Ffordd and Ffynnongroyw childcare ensures we meet the individual needs of each child. The Committee are fully supportive of continuing to develop playgroup for the needs of our local community and families that attend. They have volunteered free of charge to ensure playgroup provides a high standard of childcare and are a vital part in the playgroup's success. The truslees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity should undertake and how succesful outcomes should be evaluated. It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level euivalent to three month's expenditure or a minimum of £10,000. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised or the charity's activities can be wound up in an orderly fashion.
