Summary of the Para 1.17 ThymicUK provides a support network for
purposes of the charity patients with thymic cancers in the United
as set out in its Kingdom and advocates on their behalf.
governing document
The purposes of ThymicUK are to support
people affected by thymic cancers, and to
improve the quality of life and access to
available treatments for patients with
thymic cancers in the UK. We endeavour
to do this by:
a) identifying patients with thymic
cancers and offering support throughout
their journey.
b) providing information resources for
patients, carers, and medical
professionals such as listing available
treatments, clinical trials, and the location
of thymic cancer specialists in the UK.
c) raising awareness of thymic cancers
among the general public, and medical
professionals.
d) promoting research into the causes,
detection, diagnosis, treatment, and
management of thymic cancers.
e) liaising with relevant organisations
such as the British Thoracic Oncology
Group (BTOG), the International Thymic
Malignancy Interest |Group (ITMIG), and
the pharmaceutical industry for the
advancement of knowledge and
treatment of thymic cancers.
f) liaising with and influencing key health
decision makers such as NICE and the
NHS in the UK.
g) facilitating fundraising to promote the
above objectives.
Summary of the main Para 1.17 and Between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022,
activities in relation to 1.19 ThymicUK has provided information and
those purposes for the support to patients, carers, and medical

accounts. We have seen a substantial growth in
traffic on the website, in the number of
subscribers to the mailing list, and in
people joining our support group. All the
above indicate that more people affected
by thymic cancers in the UK are becoming
aware of our existence and are reaching
out for support.
We organised two virtual meetings for the
support group; a social meeting on
14.06.2021, and a session with expert
speakers on ’responding to cancer, tips
for managing anxiety, depression, stress
and more’ on 30.11.2021.
We liaised with BTOG and ITMIG, amongst
others in preparation to co-organise the
first international Thymic Malignancy
Awareness Month to be held in May 2022.
As patient advocates, we attended the
BTOG virtual conference (22-23.04.2021)
and the ITMIG virtual conference (16-
17.10.2021).
We produced ThymicUK awareness
badges and ribbons and started to sell
these on our website and at fundraising
events. We also produced contact cards
and distributed them to hospitals.
Statement confirming Para 1.18 We confirm that all trustees have had
whether the trustees regard to the guidance issued by the

essential costs (e.g., our website domain).
No personal expenses are used as all

needed for the above are to be held as
reserves, with the aim to initiate research
into the causes, detection, diagnosis,
treatment, and management of thymic
