Achievements and Performance

	Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	WEG manufactured and sold a variety of wildlife habitats during 2025 including; tawny owl nesting boxes, small bird nesting boxes, swift nesting boxes, hedgehog houses/feeding stations and bat roosting boxes. WEG only produced a small number of products due to the loss of the facility which the charity had previously had the benefit of working from, reducing our capacity in terms of equipment and volunteers. The construction of swift nesting boxes was WEGs primary product it sold to residents and local partners. WEG made the decision to produce its wildlife habitats to order since the change to our manufacturing capability and seek projects that focus on specific need such as the local focus on supporting swifts with our partners in the local branch of the RSPB. WEG did put together a successful presentation on 'how to build a hedgehog house' in partnership with the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and we will continue to seek similar projects going forward to secure regular revenues for supporting WEGs mission. In respect of volunteering sessions, we delivered 52 sessions, with a total of 1,452 biodiversity volunteer work hours throughout 2025. Activities included: Pruning fruit trees, clearing cages, Weeding/mulching trees. Removing old fencing to enable meadow grazing. Balsam bashing. Bio blitz Caring for fruit trees, raspberries and hedge. Aconbury Orchards: Collecting yellow rattle and big butterfly count Worcester Show: Summer fete on Pitchcroft, public engagement Bio Blitz: Joint with WWT and Chapter Meadows, surveying + other activities

Eco Fair: Community garden fair, public engagement Guided Walk: Riverside walk, introduction to the WEG Sessions were delivered in partnership with the Lighthouse Family Centre, Millbrooke Estate, Chapter Meadows, Sanctuary, Malvern Panalytical and the King’s Trust. In respect of engagement, the WEG attended a number of local events including eco fairs and the Worcester Show. A guided walk of the Wild About Worcester Way was run for the anniversary.
