Annual report of the Trustees
After the pandemic which completely overtook the world for two years, normalcy finally returned in 2022. All the plans previously put in place to get our educational/ training charity going have had to be re -started. The first trustees meeting was held in February via zoom link and current situation was reviewed and we identified that activities could be restarted as the covid restrictions were eased off. As a first step the annual educational conference annual general meeting were organised in the city of Leicester. Active discussions on Zoom video call of the core committee members was organised and organising committee was formed. Mr S Sangal and Mr S Chaudri led the effort of organising the annual meeting. This year we were fortunate to have an internationally acclaimed surgeon from India deliver the invited lecture. Dr Avanish Sakhlani is a well known colorectal surgeon from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. He is a leading academic in the field from India and author of several academic papers and book chapters. His lecture was well received. In addition, the 50 members who attended the conference were updated on various topics of colorectal surgery and difficult cases were discussed. The advantage of our annual conference over others in the field is the interactive nature and clinically relevant topics discussion.
Subsequent to the clinical and academic meeting the annual general meeting was held. Annual accounts were presented by Mr Abhiram Sharma (Treasurer). Unanimous decision was made to keep the current executive committee for another year. Decision was made to keep the membership price at £100. Good number of ideas were discussed to take the organisation forward. In this direction few ideas that were agreed upon by the membership were

Current Progress and future aspirations
Last meeting with the website team, a few final points on the website were identified and these changes were being made before official launch of the website. Sites interested in hosting travelling fellowships for Surgeons from India are being identified and processes being finalised with Individual Hospital Trusts to fine tune the pathway. Contacts with Indian Organisations are being finalised to organise the travelling fellowships and also to collaborate in academic research and training. This will enable surgeons from the organisation to visit Indian Institutions to advance training on both sides. The long term goal is to have a steady flow of surgeons from both sides visiting, learning and enriching the experience. Setting and organising training courses (both simulation and cadaveric) in Indian Institutions would also help in training the future generations of trainees
