The charity has continued its work to help Mauritian charities. Using regular donations it received from its donors, it made grants to two charities based in Mauritius (a charity looking after women and children in distress and an environmental organisation involved with recycling and environmental awareness programs), in line with its charitable purposes. Grants were made every two months to each charity to cover specific needs, in accordance with the grant making policy. The charity is currently in the process of identifying a third charity to support in order to allocate any surpluses built up in our accounts from donations. |

Para 1.20 | UK Mauritius Charity (UKMC) continued to support the “Shelter For Women and Children In Distress Trust Fund” to fund computer lessons, school materials and everyday essentials for disadvantaged children in 2025. Over 2026, our grants have mainly gone towards supporting costs related to the general wellbeing of children at the shelter after agreeing a new grant plan with the local charity. UKMC has also continued to support the environmental work done by We Recycle, a Mauritian organisation that runs recycling activities including maintenance of recycling bins and raising awareness in the community and in schools about the importance of recycling and how it helps the environment. |

Financial Review
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | The charity’s financial position is secure, with a higher surplus than in previous years. Over the period, it received around £5,957 in donations, and it was able to distribute around £4,460 in grants, a lower amount compared to the previous comparable period as a result of a stronger pound in relation to the Mauritian rupee and given our intention to support a third charity (hence slightly reducing our contributions to our two current charities). We are in the process of identifying a third charity in Mauritius to support. The charity had no expenses charged to it. The charity has received regular monthly donations throughout this period as well as a one-off donation from one donor to be distributed to a charity of the donor’s choosing. At the end of period, the charity’s bank balance stood at around £2,809, which enables it to continue helping its two chosen beneficiaries with the capacity to include a new charity to support. |
