Summaty of Activities Undertaken
Fund Raising Events, to provide the funds to build and maintain the Proposed Parish War Memorial.
Main Achievements of the Charity during the year.
The Long Ashton Parish War Memorial was built in the spring 2021, and was unveiled on Monday, 12[th] April, 2021 by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, Mrs Ann Maw, standing in for HRH the Princess Royal, who cancelled at the last minute, following the death of her Father.
The Garden of Remembrance is maintained for us by the Long Ashton Horticultural Society, and the Grass is cut by local gardening contractor, Little Apple.
We have held Two Armistice Day Services at the Memorial, with the Church Choir, the Polish Church from Bristol and the Local Schools taking active part.
Charity’s Policy on Reserves.
The Charity is keeping a Reserve to cover Maintenance and Insurance of the Memorial, and to cover any unforeseen Expenditure which may occur.
Further Financial Awareness.
The Trustees are trying to secure legacies to ensure ongoing income for the Trust.
