I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/04/2024.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

(1) To advance the religion of Islam, by means of, but not exclusively, promoting the teachings and tenets of Islam via the provision or assistance in the provision of facilities for Islamic worship and education, and the promotion of a better understanding among the wider public of the peaceful teachings of Islam, in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him) as interpreted by the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaah School of Thought; (2) To advance education for the benefit of the general public by

means of, but not exclusively, the provision or the assistance in the provision of educational activities and facilities, such as a supplementary school and language classes for the benefit of said persons; (3) To advance in life and relieve needs of young people through: (a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; (b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals; (4) To relieve financial hardship among poor people and other people in need by means of, but not exclusively, making grants or loans for providing or paying for items, equipment, services and facilities, including the provision of food, clean water, and clothing for the benefit of the said persons.

During the period, the trustees delivered several activities that benefitted the public. Among those were:

The trustees have had due regard to the public benefit guidance of the Charity Commission and are satisfied that they are benefitting the public by advancing Islam, providing facilities for leisure time occupation and relieving financial hardship.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

During the period, the trustees delivered several activities that benefitted the public. Among those were:

Brief statement of the char ity’s policy on reserves

During the period, the charity secured income of £57,893 which included restricted donations of £10,218. During the period, the charity had expenditure of £34,654 and loans were given to a partner charity of £30,000. At the end of the period, the charity generated a deficit of £6,761 which was met with prior year surpluses. The charity had restricted reserves of £23,792 and unrestricted reserves of £52,480.

The trustees have a policy to retain £1,000 in unrestricted reserves for governance and administration costs of the charity and remainder of the funds to be used for charitable activity in the future including the purchase of a property for charitable activity.
