Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Between 2022 and 2023, the charity led an
annual campaign, Beyond 2030. The
campaign was designed to look at ways to
improve young people’s health in the UK. In
our workshop in London, we led two
workshops on HIV/AIDS and Mental Health.
One workshop on women and the other
focusing on men. The women’s workshop
was on understanding how to support Black
and African women’s sexual health. The
workshop was led by a Black nurse, she
explained ways to get tested and how to
better understand the NHS’ sexual services-
what to expect, how to use the services. The
in depth conversation led to a demonstration
of HIV testing toolkit and how a woman
overcame childhood sexual abuse.

The Men’s workshop focused on Black Men’s mental health. Hearing from three speakers; a mental health specialist, a boxer and an educator. The aim of the workshop was to seek ways to support Black men that are struggling with their mental health and how to better understand it. The Mental Health specialist explained micro aggression and mental health in a working environment. Overall, both workshops were a success, it was a safe space for the Black and African community to discuss health issues affecting them.
