Activities
ReFrame Collective provides support to parents and organisations through co-produced and parent led projects and initiatives. The aim of this work is to reduce social isolation and impact of care proceedings on parents, to raise awareness of the experiences of parents and to improve the systems working with parents through increased understanding and development of co-produced initiatives.
Objects: To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing People From Becoming Socially Excluded As A Result Of Having Their Child/ren Removed From Their Care (Or Being At Risk Of Having Their Child/ren Removed), Relieving The Needs Of This Group Of People And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society, In Particular By:- Alleviating The Distress Caused By Parentæs Previous Experiences Of Social Exclusion And The Impact Of Having A Child Removed. - Raising Public Awareness Regarding The Needs And Experiences Of This Particular Group Of Parents. - Contributing To And Further The Knowledge Base Regarding This Area.mothers And Fathers Who Have A Child Removed From Their Care Are Socially Excluded Due To The Impact This Process Has On Their Mental Health, Health, The Stigma They Experience, Substance Use, Involvement With The Criminal Justice System, Poor Educational Attainment/unemployment And Disadvantage That Can Follow From The Above. This Particular Group Of Parents Are Also Socially Excluded As A Result Of A Number Of Factors That Precede Their Involvement In Care Proceedings, Including: Having Been A Young Person In Care, Mental Health Difficulties, Learning Disabilities, Substance Use, Poor Educational Attainment, And Disadvantage Arising From Contextual Issues (E.g. Financial Hardship, Poverty, Family Breakdown, Poor Housing, Being A Victim Of Crime, Socio-Economic Status And Discrimination On The Grounds Of Youth, Class, Sex, Race, Ethnic Origin, Sexual Orientation).
