of Flowergate Old Chapel for the
benefit of the inhabitants of Whitby
and the general public including use
for the prevention and relief of
poverty and the provision of training
and work space.use

Income is derived from live giving
and grants and is used for
maintenance of the building,
religious activities, recreation and
education.

The licence arrangement between
Flash Company Arts Ltd CIC (FCA)
and Flowergate Old Chapel CIO
(FOCCIO), has continued
throughout the year enabling FCA to
use the building for small community
arts activities. This has included
Whitby Community Choir rehearsals
and performances, Whitby Folk
Festival events in August 24,<br>rehearsal and performance space<br>for local musicians and community<br>meetings. These took place until the<br>beginning of February after which<br>the building was closed for a few<br>months for both FCA activities and<br>chapel monthly services in<br>readiness for pew removal and re-<br>flagging of much of the floor.<br>•<br>Our monthly services continued on<br>the 1stSunday of each month<br>throughout the year until February<br>24.

The Annual visit of Unitarians from
Scarborough, Stockton and
Newcastle took place in August.
Discussions took place with North
Yorkshire Planning Authority and
Scarborough Conservation officer
concerning the removal of pews, the
use of a permeable membrane
under any new flooring and the
importance of replacement being
like for like. We were granted
consent to remove the central pews
and pew platform and re-flag the
area with York stone, following some
months of discussion and
consultation.
Our AGM took place on 28th
November 2024. Three members
and all trustees were present.
Apologies were received from 6
members. Claire Lee was re-elected
as Secretary, Neill Warhurst as
Treasurer and Margaret Kirk as
Chair.
Preliminary discussions took place
about the future of the CIO which
will be further considered in the
coming year.

throughout the spring and summer months.
