|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|•<br>Income is derived from live giving<br>and grants and is used for<br>maintenance of the building,<br>religious activities, recreation and<br>education.<br>•<br>The licence arrangement between<br>Flash Company Arts Ltd CIC (FCA)<br>and Flowergate Old Chapel CIO<br>(FOCCIO), has continued<br>throughout the year enabling FCA to<br>use the building for small community<br>arts activities. This has included<br>Whitby Community Choir rehearsals<br>and performances, Whitby Folk<br>Festival events in August `24,<br>rehearsal and performance space<br>for local musicians and community<br>meetings. These took place until the<br>beginning of February after which<br>the building was closed for a few<br>months for both FCA activities and<br>chapel monthly services in<br>readiness for pew removal and re-<br>flagging of much of the floor.<br>•<br>Our monthly services continued on<br>the 1stSunday of each month<br>throughout the year until February<br>`24.<br>•<br>The Annual visit of Unitarians from<br>Scarborough, Stockton and<br>Newcastle took place in August.<br>Discussions took place with North<br>Yorkshire Planning Authority and<br>Scarborough Conservation officer<br>concerning the removal of pews, the<br>use of a permeable membrane<br>under any new flooring and the<br>importance of replacement being<br>like for like. We were granted<br>consent to remove the central pews<br>and pew platform and re-flag the<br>area with York stone, following some<br>months of discussion and<br>consultation.<br>Our AGM took place on 28th<br>November 2024.  Three members<br>and all trustees were present.<br>Apologies were received from 6<br>members. Claire Lee was re-elected<br>as Secretary, Neill Warhurst as<br>Treasurer and Margaret Kirk as<br>Chair.<br>Preliminary discussions took place<br>about the future of the CIO which<br>will be further considered in the<br>coming year.|

This has resulted in more small<br>arts events and activities being provided for<br>the community in accordance with the<br>objects of the charity. See details above.<br>We see the use of the building by FCA and<br>its aspiration to provide more arts and<br>educational activities for the community as<br>a significant achievement. We believe these<br>activities will flourish and expand once<br>pews have been removed and space<br>opened up to facilitate freedom of<br>movement.<br>The monthly services are attended by a<br>small congregation as well as visitors<br>throughout the spring and summer months.|
