| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | This charity was established to replace its predecessor established in 1980 also known as the Abney and District Community Association (Reg, No. 510122) following advice that it would be advisable to move to an incorporated structure. In the process of transferring assets it was noted that the Village Hall was registered with the Land Registry in the name of the three initial Trustees two of who have subsequently died. The ownership was transferred to the current Trustees but because of COVID and the very busy period resulting from the stamp duty holiday the process took more than a year. We are currently awaiting authorisation by the Charity Commission to transfer this fixed asset with its specific purpose to the new entity, Consequently, transferring assets from the old to the new entity has been delayed and this current entity has not started to operate. As soon as we have authorisation from the Charity Commission we can transfer the funds, close the old entity and start operating under the new Constitution. |
