To support the men and women, and their dependents, of the Inns of Court & City Yeomanry, and its predecessor reserve army units in their training, welfare, and efficiency. And to provide benevolent support for those who have served in the unit. Also to maintain the regimental museum and other chattels at 10 Stone Buildings, Lincoln's Inn.

Objects: (1) The Promotion Of The Efficiency Of The Armed Forces Of The Crown By, In Particular, But Not Limited To:-(A) Holding Together The Traditions Of The Ic & Cy And Perpetuating Its Deeds By Maintaining, Administering And Preserving The Museum Collection;(b) Maintaining, Administering And Preserving The Ic & Cy Chattels For The Use And Benefit Of The Ic & Cy;(c) Making Grants To Any British Military Museum Which Is Open To The Public; And(d) Supplementing The Public Funds Available For The Maintenance Of The Ic & Cy In Particular, But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing, For The Following Purposes:(i) Discharging Any Rents, Rates, Taxes And Any Other Liabilities (Including Repairs) In Respect Of Any Buildings Or Grounds Used For The Purposes Of The Ic & Cy And In Providing Any Sinking Fund In Respect Thereof;(ii) Paying, Or Making A Contribution Towards, Any Office, Administration Or Other Expenses Incurred In Connection With The Activities Of The Ic & Cy And/or The Activities Of The Ic & Cy Association;(iii) Paying, Or Making A Contribution Towards, Any Expenses Incurred In Providing And Maintaining A Mess Or Messes For Use By Members Of The Ic & Cy;(iv) Paying, Or Making A Contribution Towards, Any Expenses Incurred In Relation To The Provision Of Sports Facilities And Equipment, Adventure Training And Other Similar Activities For All Ranks Of Members Of The Ic & Cy;(v) Making Grants To Any Ic & Cy Affiliated Units Of The Army Cadet Force;(vi) Supporting The Band Of The Royal Yeomanry (Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry) Including But Not Limited To The Provision, Or Assisting In The Provision, Of Ceremonial Uniforms And Band Instruments And Equipment; And(vii) Any Other Purpose In Furtherance Of The Charitable Object Specified In This Sub-Clause (1) Of This Clause Which, Is For The Benefit Of The Ic & Cy;(2) The Relief Of Those In Need By Reason Of Youth, Age, Ill Health, Disability, Financial Hardship Or Other Disadvantage By:(a) Assisting Persons Who Are Serving Or Who Have Served In The Ic & Cy And/or Any Of Its Predecessor Units, And Irrespective Of Whether The Aforementioned Persons Are Living Or Dead, The Dependants, Spouses, Widows And Widowers (Whether Or Not Re-Married) And The Issue Of Such Persons;(b) Making Grants To Any Charity (Whether The Same Be A Military Or Civil Charity) Which In The Opinion Of The Charity Trustees Directly Or Indirectly Benefits The Persons Referred To At Sub-Clause (2)(A) Of This Clause And Whether Or Not The Objects Of Any Such Charitable Institution Expressly Include Provisions For The Benefit Of Such Persons; And(c) Making Grants To Any Hospital, Home Or Institution Having Among Its Objects The Relief And/or Assistance In Sickness Or Convalescence Of Officers, And Other Men And Women Irrespective Of Rank, Who Are Serving Or Who Have Served In Any Unit Or Branch Of The Armed Forces Of The Crown;(3) The Advancement Of The Education Of The Public In Relation To The Armed Forces Of The Crown By, In Particular, But Not Limited To Making Grants To Any Charity Whose Objects Include The Promotion Of The Advancement Of The Science And Literature Of The British Armed Forces.in Furtherance Of The Objects The Funds Of The CIO Shall Not Be Applied To Relieve Expenditure That Should Be Properly Met Out Of Public Funds.in These Objects:"charity" Means Any Institution Which Is Charitable In Accordance With The Law Of England And Wales;"dependants" Are Regarded As Being Those Persons Who Would Be Entitled To Provision Pursuant To The Inheritance (Provision For Family And Dependents) Act 1975 Or Any Subsequent Statutory Modification Or Replacement Of That Act;"ic & Cy" Means The Army Reserve Units From Time To Time Associated With Or Assuming As Part Of Their Title "Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry", Including Its Current Sub-Units: 68 (Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry) Signal Squadron, 71 Signal Regiment; The Band Of The Royal Yeomanry (Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry); And Any Successor Units Or Sub-Units;"ic & Cy Association" Means The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Association (Formerly Called The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Regimental Association);"ic & Cy Chattels" Means The Chattels Held By The Following "Chattel Charities" (Which Were Established By A Charity Commission Scheme Dated 28 September 1971) On The Date Of This Constitution And Such Other Chattels As Shall From Time To Time Be Held By The CIO And Which Do Not Form Part Of The Museum Collection :-- The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Officers Mess;- The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Sergeants Mess Chattels;- The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry President Of The Regimental Institute Chattels; And- The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Band Instrument And Equipment;"ic & Cy Museum" Means The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Museum Which Is Currently Situated At 10 Stone Buildings, Lincolns Inn, London Wc2a 3Tg;"issue" Means The Child, Grandchild And All Other Lineal Descendants Of The Relevant Person, Including Illegitimate Issue If Such Issue Is/was A Dependent Of The Relevant Person;"museum Collection" Means Amongst Other Things, The Military Records And Archives, Uniforms, Weapons, Medals, Musical Instruments And Memorabilia That Shall From Time To Time Be Housed At The Ic & Cy Museum (Or Such Other Museum Or Museums; And"predecessor Units" Means The Following Predecessor Units And Sub-Units Of The Ic & Cy:the City Of London Yeomanrythe Inns Of Court Regimentthe Inns Of Court Officer Training Corpsthe Inns Of Court And City Yeomanrya Company (Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry) The London Yeomanry And Territorials The Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Cadre - The Royal Yeomanrythe Inns Of Court And City Yeomanry Home Service Force
