Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Leeds Hyde Football Club has enjoyed an
outstanding and historic 2024/2025 season,
becoming one of the most inclusive and
community-driven grassroots clubs in the
region. This year, the club was proudly
recognised with Club of the Year – Highly
Commended at the West Riding Grassroots
Football Awards and was also highly
recommended for the Lioness Award,
reflecting our commitment to equality,
development and community impact. On the
pitch, the club continues to grow at every
level, with four women’s teams competing in
league football, making Leeds Hyde one of
the largest women’s football clubs locally,
while also providing free girls’ football every
Saturday to ensure that no child is excluded
due to financial barriers. Alongside this, the
club now runs 14 junior teams competing in
league football across Leeds Hyde Park,

creating clear pathways for young players to develop and progress. Leeds Hyde Football Club is proud to be an open and welcoming club where everyone is welcome, whether players, parents, volunteers or visiting teams. A key part of this commitment is financial inclusion, with almost 60% of our young players currently being sponsored so that children from families who cannot afford football fees are still able to take part and feel included.

The club has also strengthened its role within the wider community through new and growing partnerships, including a developing partnership with Leeds University Women’s Football Club and continued links with Leeds Bucket Women’s Football Club, helping to strengthen pathways for women and girls and deepen our connection with the local community. We are especially proud to say that our Junior Club President is only 12 years old, already helping with decisionmaking and leadership within the club, setting an inspiring example for young girls and showing that Leeds Hyde Football Club genuinely believes in youth leadership and empowerment. The club is currently supported by around 30 volunteers, made up of a mix of students and local residents, all working together to support training sessions, matchdays and community activities. We actively aim to develop these volunteers by giving them leadership roles and responsibilities, helping them build confidence, skills and experience for the future. In addition, the club runs workshops and activities for young people aged 16 and over, supporting their development both on and off the pitch. Behind the scenes, our trustees have worked tirelessly to strengthen communication with the community and build relationships with local businesses, who have begun to provide sponsorship and support that will continue to benefit our players and families. One of the most important developments for the club this year has been the completion of a full kitchen renovation, with a brand-new kitchen now in place, allowing us to host more social

events, provide refreshments on matchdays, and create a welcoming space for families and the wider community to come together. The club’s founder, Adel, also completed an extraordinary personal challenge by dribbling a football all the way to Wembley Stadium in August, raising almost £4,500 to support the club — a fantastic achievement and a powerful symbol of dedication, resilience and belief in the future of Leeds Hyde Football Club. Together, these achievements demonstrate that Leeds Hyde Football Club is not only delivering success on the pitch, but is also building a strong, inclusive and supportive community hub where football is used as a tool for opportunity, leadership and positive change.
