The Glapwell Community Sports Association have employed a number of strategies to achieve the charity’s objectives are to:

Provide facilities for amateur and professional sportspeople to develop. Groups in the borough are given discounted rates for longer term hire of space to encourage long-term commitment

Encourage groups involving young people in sports, promoting good mental health in younger people affected by the pandemic
-
Provide free access to facilities for not-for-profit community groups with an emphasis on changing attitudes to fitness and health
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
Putting these strategies into action are focus is on:

Facility provision across a range of sports with access facilitated for all ages, (dis)abilities, social and economic backgrounds, religions, ethnicity and gender.

Highlighting the mental health benefits of taking part in organised sports, recreation and leisure activities
-
Actively encouraging and facilitating not-for-profit community groups that provide health and fitness support, especially those that are free at point of delivery.
In shaping our objectives for the year and planning our activities, the trustees of the Glapwell Community Sports Association confirm that they have paid due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

There are specific objectives for the coming year which the charity is pleased to be able to report
- The charity expects substantial Section 106 planning funds to come on stream in 2025-6 and major refurbishments of the dilapidated changing rooms and community facilities to be made possible for season 2026-27 from these funds.

In addition part of these funds will be reserved for required contributions to grant funding from sporting bodies where grants do not cover 100% of project expenditure.

Using these reserved funds, refurbishment of the grass pitch facilities in conjunction with resident community teams will be made to grant giving sporting bodies.
