Re orti Public Benefft In order to fulfil our charitable purpose the chaiity has to resto Bryntsil Cottage to a physical state to enable schools and youth groups to visit for resKlential activities. Therefore the principle activities conducted in this rertIng period have been twofold: 1. To secure a new, peppercom renl, 30 year lease. 2. To raise funds lo enable professional building contractors to make gwd tt schedule of identifd in the lam of the new lease. These activities are reflected in tr accounts for our first financial year. Complimenting these activitses has been a concerted efft)rt to build up good will amongst the alumni of Bryntail Cottage. The trustees consider these activitses satisfy the guidance provided by The Chaiity Commission surmunding delivery of public benefrt. Achievements and Perforniance Since its establishment the charity has achieved the following milestones: 1. Secured a new 30 year lease for the propety, 2. Engaged an architect and worf(ed towards Listed Building and Planning Consent for the redevelopment of the propety, 3. Insured Ihe propety and engaged the local famier for one hour a week to act as caretaker and lo begin clearing out the aixumulated unwanted artefacts: 4. Raised £57257.20 in grants and donations; 5. Established two complimentary webpages; 6. Begun to gattrr memries and archive material; 7. Produced a video arKI published it on the intemet. 8. Engaged positively wilh Cadw about the school herltage wlth the cottage. 9. The chair of trustees has undertaken fundraising and communication trainir fvnded by the Welsh Covid re)Very programme.
Financial Review Financial sition as at 31 March 2021 The balance on the account was £40225 in cash. Of this £37620 is restricted for use on the redevelopmerrt of the cottage. Reserves Poli The charity will hold reserves sufficient to cover one yearfs revenue costs. Whilst the cottage is being refurbished this Ure is £2(KIO. The trustees will review this once the propety is once again used by schools and youth groups. Princi le Sources of Fundi Whilst the priority of the charity is refurbishing the buildings the principle sources of furKling are grants and donations.
