The Tnjstees took the charity Commissions guidance when setting up the char(ty in 2020 helping us to shape our purposes and activities. Purposes and Activtties" The Cracked Slipper Company's purpose is to advance education by fostering and promoting the maintenance, improvement and development of artisb"c taste and the knovAedge, understsnding and appreciation of the perfomiing and visual arts (including drama, music, and dance, creative writing. ¢￿ating costumes and sets and medial amongst the inhabitants of Hereford in particular by making the arts accessible lo all sections of the cnmmunity, without distinction of race, sex, polttical or other opinions. The Charitable purpose is to advance public educab.on through perfomiing Arts. Aims.. To reach out to people who wcwjd not nomlalty actess the arts due to social and financial constraints offering free drama groups. workshops ensuring that people across Herefordshire can take part and have the Chan￿ to leam new skills. gain experien￿, confidence and to make new friends. As well as running our free to attend weekty groups The Cracked Slipper Company took part in the Heref0rdshI￿ Holiday Activty and Food Programme during the summer holidays. We supported the Fit and Fed programrne at Hinton Community Centre. We attended the SEND summit in Hereford. We organised a p￿ty competition for budding writers in He￿fOrdShIre. We welcomed Pudsey Bear on his visrt to Drama 4 Change. We hosted the He Said She Said live perfomiance and launched the HSSSTS films online. We ended the year with a INe perfomwnce from our weekly groups invf(ing family and fn.ends and some special guests to see a wonderful display of drama from the young people al the Cracked Slipper Company. Centre Stage: Thanks to the ongoing supp)rt and funding from The Eveson Trust of £4000 we were able to not only Continue with our group, but we watched Centre Stsge grow and develop. Centre Stage is a free drama group for neur¢)dNergent young people aged be￿een 16- 25 years. This group con￿ntrated on crealNe wribng and small perfomiances. Centre stage helps neurodivergent young people to express themselves in a creats.ve way and helps them to develop their social sknlls and reach their aspirations. Herefordshire granted us funding to support a new pc¥lcasting project at Centre Stage. This helped us lo purchase the equipment needed to start the proJecL The young people have been recording an ongoing radio draFT￿ and have produced some wonderful online podcasts. Is a free to attend weekty drarre group for young people between the ages of 10- 18 years. Young people highlight issues that are important to them and their community through drama and performance. Drama 4 Change had another incredible year with funding we [￿Ned from BBC Children in need this enabled the ongoing work with young people at Drama4 Change We are absolutely thrilled to receNe this funding over a pencxj of three years. This has helped Drama 4 Change to flourish and feel confident knowing they have had the support fom BBC Children in need. We completed our first year of ftjnding wrth BBC Children in Need with our evaluation and report, not only did the r&tK)rt highlight the dtfference we are maknng lo young people's live5 but it enabled us lo see how much we have achieved in our first year of funding wtth BBC Children in Need. We used surveys, focus groups, events. and case studies to provide us wtth the feedback and cOnsU￿allOn. have received £44, 997 from BBC Children in need which is £14.999 per year. We invited Pud*y bear to join us in ￿lebrating our success. We also received £500 from Tesco Stronger starts thanks to a nomination from one of our supporters. Little Slippers: Little Slippers is a free to attend DTrma group for 7-10 years and we meet every Monday4.30pm until 5.30pm 8tThe Kindlecentre in Hereford. Little Slippers has been made possible through fvnding from Herefordshire Communtty Foundation and the Inchrye Trust. The Cracked Slipper Company is incredibly grateful to The Herefordshire Communty Foundab"on for Funding Little Slippers we have retswed £3273.50 making it possible to run Little Slippers for a year. And the Inchrye Trust for £1000 in funding. The Cracked Slipper Company reaches out to disadvantaged young people in Herefordshire offering free a￿sS to our Drama groups. Oui Youth Engagement Officer organised a poetry compettfion promoting creative writing anrj poetry amongtheyoung people of Herefordshire in April 2024. Thanksto the sponsorshipfrom The Beefy Boys. we were able to create a poetry book of 8llthe poems byyoung people aged be￿een 7 and 18 and prizes were given tothewinning poems in e8ch agecategory. Six monologueswere written by six local writers. all with different identrties and sexual orientations, based on their stories about living and growing up in a small rural p18ce. Through our free-to-attend drama groups. it became clear that gender and identity is an incredibly important issuefortheir members. So this iswhyweworked with othercommunity groups, charities 8nd services in Herefordshire to gain an insight into opinions about gender and how this could be used to create a set of six p12ys and films to educate others and help create a communitythat has a better understanding ofeouality and community cohesion.
