Trustees, Annual Report for the period From 1n12022 To 301612023 Charlty name: Shlrley Llons Club {ClO) Charity registration number: 1189811 Objectives and Activities The ¢lub raised funding through various actwities throughout the year. the regular ones being the annual Camival, a Beer Festival, a plant sale and a Christmas Sleigh collection. Funds raised are then used to make donations and support local and intemational humanitarian projects decided upon by the members of Shirley Lions Club. The actmties undertaken a￿ enjoyed by the local communty and other local charrtles and communty groups are invtted to join in the a¢bvtties to raise their profile and to supplement their fundraising activtbes. Donats'ons to indNiduals and organisations are ¢onsKlered on a Gase by case basis and voted upon by club members. The charity do88 not use Social Investment but instead relies on a mixture of donations, grants, fundraising functions and sponsorship. In ensuring that this is successful, activities are posted on social rnedia hwhluhts'ng how funds have been spent on activities and donations as V￿11 as requesting support where appropriate. The members pay an annual Subscription to COV8r th8 administrative Costs of running the club with their main contribution comirKJ from giving their time freety. Achievements and Performance Approximately 6.500 people benefffted from the club's acts'iities, this includes local people b8nefrtting from foodbank donats'ons, receiwng free prostate testing, and community events such as Shirley Carnival. In addrtion the club made various donations of nearfy £12.800. The majority of the donations were for local causes but some funds were also sent via the Lion Clubs Intemational Foundation in support of Intemational disasters. The club continues to support the knons COmpet￿On for Young Ambassador of the 21st Century by idenlfying candTrdates and supporting them through the competits'on process. This is a competrtion which reGognises and rewards youngsters between the ages of 16 and 19 who have given signfficant semce to their local communty. Youngsters be￿een the ages of 8-18 are encouraged and suppJrted to become actNely engaged in voluntary work in the local communty. Financial Review All activities are undertaken by members, family and friends. In this accounting period this accounted for a total of 1.243 hours. all of which was on a voluntary basis. Funds received from the public for a spectfic cause e.g. prostate teskn"ng, are held as restricted funds and utilised for that purpose wrth any surplus being held for the following year's event.

Shirley Lions does not have any large regular commitments so any reduction in ir￿orne as seen with the prewous COVID lockdown. means that there has to be a CO￿espOndIng reduction in donations until other fundraising actsvitses can found. Budgets for donations are reduGed ensunng that there are still funds available to cover unexpected emergenGy requests for supporL Structuro, Governance and Management Whilst the club uses a standard Lion Clubs Consbtuts'on, the Trust l)eed this is modffied by locally approved By-Laws Trustees are appointed each year, being the persons holding the post of President, Secretsry, Treasurer, plus Immediate Past President and Vice President Club andlor a member of Shirley Lions Club as elected by the club members.
