There were many stops and starts but
in hindsight the completion of the
project (with a few snagging items
remaining) during the many months
when we would have had to be shut or
operating under restrictions has been
extremely fortunate.
There have been swings and
roundabouts with funding as the
Lottery sources for the capital
expenditure we wanted were diverted
to Covid help, however we have
received relief funding from the
Government to cover our overheads for
2020/21 and a flow of private,
community and Council donations and
contributions for items in lieu of not
being able to do any other fund-raising
activities. Keeping up with the thank

curtain making, turf laying, painting,
funding and attending meetings during
tricky times. We will spend the summer
encouraging groups and activities to
resume and start up as restrictions
ease and look forward to running our
own community events to welcome
and integrate the many new Parish
residents.

Finally, again I would like to thank the Parish Council and in particular James Pearson for in those dark days last March forging forward, to Dawn Adams for her cheerful steering of the project and to John Steadman for paying attention to the detail in the hardest of times for him and sending all best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
