The last year ha5 been the m05t eventful and productl¥e 51nce the Heart Project was launched
in 2018. Despitè the sèd departure of some key members, wè have made progre55 With our
core projects, explored and embraced new Inlli8tives and wel£orned new talent onto our team.
Summer Workshops
The year started with the successful delNery of our second Summer Arts Proaramme, thistime
In the easleT settingof the Arts Centre, rather than a marouee. Most workshops were ful
booked and much appreciated, 85 were ihe outreach session5 we did for Ukrainlan refugees
and Age Concern. The project strenEthened ovr latIonshIp with the Art5 Cefjtre, providing
welcome b005t to the incomes Of both charitie5, Thanks must go to Patsy for Coordinating this
project so expertly. sourcing the funding. devisin8 the prosramme and generally keeplng the
whole show on the road.

The Crediton in and around website had $0 far been our most t&n8ible 3chievement. But we all
agreed that. aftef three years, il needed streamllning. Thanks to a Localr

The Fkgg Prol¢ Flrstly the hugely popular Flae projett, ncw in i(s 11 year. went ahead under the CHP insieèd of the Town Team banner, funded by an 3nnual grafit from the Town Council. Although the pmlect started successAJlly, wlth 10 new flags being made and 60 fla8s bein8 Illstalled In the town centre, It was unfortunately cut short when a flBg pole and bracket fell off the wall leading to z lolnt dec151on by the Town Council ènd CHP to take all the fla85 down early lor 5aletv purposes. We will now work wlth the Town Councll to review our safety measures, before deciding whether togo ahead next year. The Bl8 Bonlfaee Bash Another inheritsnce from the Town Team was a pot of money ring fented for event5 promotsn8 St Boniface. Crediton's most famous son. To make the most of thi5. we teamed up with the Town Council to organize the first 618 Bonlface Bash. a familyfun day in the park to celebrate St Bonlface Oty. Thanks must go to Jo D3vey, the Town Council's Project and Events Offlcer, who coordinated thls very successful event, whith attracted IOOD people during the day. Also thanks to CHP a5soclate Rachel Vowles. who had the idea tor a Boniface Bash in the first place and sta8e mèn88ed the live music on the day. and to our new recrult Vane55a MacDonald, who bravely agreed to steward at this ent, wSth no Idea what She ¥Y35 takln8 On. There are plans to repeat the event next year and we wlll need to conslder what role CHP takes Pailsh Chureh toncert Earlier in the year. we had organlsed another Successful event- è coneerl thE Parish Church by folk legends Kathryn Robertsand Sean keman. Thls was a'progf of concept. project, inltlated after cot)versatlons wlth the Parish Church about how tg in¢re4se the use and Income of their venue to strengrhen ihelr bld to ihe Hertta8e Lottery Fund. The Concert Wa5 3 great success, wlth 147 tlckets sold and even è small profit going to CHP ind Arts Centre, whowere our £o-produ£ers. Although no progress has been made with the chureh'5 4mbitlOU5 development plans, this Is another example of CHP buildinB partnership5Wlth key communlty or8ani5atlons. Communlty Hub Oespite the demanos of these new projetts, we th'd not abantlon ¢xJr tore mlsslon, to bullLI a new cornmuni(y hub for the town. Afterthe disappgintmentof our plan5 for thE Redlands slte we switchèd ourattention tothe Newcombes Me8dowtoilet block-which we belleve has huge potent181 to be developed as a tommunity ¥enue. The Town Council are keen to demo115h the current buildln& they own, as it Is no longerflt for purpose and have responded positively to our ideas. Over the past few rnonths we have hèd several constructlve meetlngs wlth representate$frorn the Town Council and Mid Devon Di5tria Council. who own the park, to explore how we can work rogether ro develop the site. board as well as the website team. and has stepped skillfully into 8racken'5 shoe5 a5 our Social media manè8er. Flnally, Linda Wlllthmson will join us 8$ 8n assotiate in September. SurnrnerArts Festl¥al A5 a result of all th55 8Ctlvity we flnlshed our flnanclal year In a heakhier posltlon than ever. We had also clinched fundingfor our third summer programme, whith thi5 year ha5 been expanded Into a full scale Summer Arts Festlval- with workshops. film, music and theatre e¥Ènts acr055 three venues and, crucially, a blg8er ouireach programme taklng workshops to variou5 communitY8r¢ups.
