Love Mill Road supports people, charities and organisations in the electoral wards of Romsey and Petersfield to undertake activities which: tackle inequality and create a more inclusive society enhance the Mill Road environment; and celebrate local arts and culture In 2025-26, the charity’s activities were facilitation and grant giving for: the community elements of the Mill Road Winter Fair an EcoChic Fashion Show the Summer Shindig, with live music and family fun in in a local park two Poetry Showcase events the surveys and valuations required for the Mill Road Library project – to turn a historic library building into a community arts centre. a ‘Community Corners’ project that tackles social isolation by strengthening networks of information and support for vulnerable adults and hosting informal volunteer-led meet-ups In addition, the charity led 3 no. community |

Para 1.20 | The charity gave a grant to Mill Road Winter Fair, a community led annual event attracting over 10,000 people, run by volunteers. The charity provided volunteer leadership and grants to deliver a ‘summer shindig’ with live music, two poetry evenings and an EcoChic Fashion Show. The charity invested in a promotional leaflet that was delivered to houses throughout the Mill Road neighbourhood. The charity led 3 Ideas Exchanges to give local people an opportunity to contribute |
their ideas for community projects. These meetings also prioritised and shaped the emerging projects. The charity has led a new Community Corners project to tackle social isolation via crafts (patchwork cushions from recycled fabrics), providing information to signpost people to networks of support and volunteer-led meet-ups in local cafes. The charity gave a grant to the Mill Road Library CIC to cover the costs of a valuation and survey for the Mill Road Library. This enabled progress for a community bid to purchase the building and turn it into a community arts centre.
