Section D Achievements and performance

s

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

This year we had another successful fundraising event. It was a raffle, selling tickets for a signed football shirt. We sold nearly all of the tickets we wanted to and were also able to gain many new supporters for the charity.

We also spent some time in Jamaica volunteering and allowing us to spend time with members of a local community that shared with us their passion for playing sport but highlighted the necessity for equipment and better facilities, which we experienced first-hand. This laid the foundations for a new campaign to begin next financial year for The HummingBirds to help supply communities with the needed equipment that will help to enable them to deliver more support for sport and education.

This year we also started a new campaign to allow volunteers to spend at least a term helping in schools in St. James, Jamaica. We successfully introduced two volunteers who gave their time to teach in Jamaica. This was a very successful campaign that we aim to continue.

Support continues to grow, including messages of support from a current and ex-international squash player, along with being in communication with a potential patron for the charity who also shares an interest in our objectives and wants to join us on this journey. Subscription to our mailing list and social media following has continued to grow.
