Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
The charity was formally set up in early 2020. COVID19 had a significant impact on the work we hoped to do, particularly with students. The current lack of significant funds has restricted the main activities to fund raising and efforts to broaden awareness of the charity. Main activities include: • Identifying and pursuing fundraising opportunities. • Further definition & refinement of policies & governance processes. • Completing work with interns from Keele and Birmingham: o A research piece on technology ofelectric boats; o A marketing survey of boat owners inthe UK and their appreciation of electric boats; o Development of marketing materialsand approaches. • Beginning a formalised strategy planning process. |
| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit |
Para 1.18 | The trustees have continued to recognise, and pay due regard to the guidance issued by the CC with respect to Public Benefit. Whilst lack of funds has prevented projects being undertaken (zero spending), the projects and initiatives being developed are based firmly in the Charity’s core purposes. |

Achievements and Performance

|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Our activities have again been limited by the limited funds raised so far. Multiple applications for funding grants have been completed and submitted, though currently all funders have responded that they require previous years accounts and demonstration of successful project work/ managing of funds before they will donate funds. This creates a vicious circle that is difficult to break. The efforts of the trustees and the (unpaid) Executive Officer plus the new volunteer, Duncan Williamson have identified a need for a more structured campaigning strategy. Planning for this has commenced. The interns funded and provided by Keele and Birmingham universities completed their small but valuable tasks, marking a start for future projects. A single donation of £300 from the charitable fund of Frazer-Nash Consultancy is the first significant donation to be received by the Charity: all other donations being provided by individuals (for instance through Easy Fundraising). |
Additional information (optional) You may choose to include further statements where relevant about:
| Achievements against objectives set |
Para 1.41 | The slow pace of fund growth has been disappointing. However, the lack of any outgoings means the Charity position is slowing improving. Funding, project and investment objectives will be set out once we have a more developed funding stream. |
