Activities
Helping young people within the public care system to develop skills and capabilities to participate in society as independent, mature individuals. Providing support, training and personal development opportunities to build aspirations. Helping socially excluded young people in the care system overcome inequality and disadvantage.
Objects: 3.1 The Object(s) Of The CIO Are:3.1.1 To Act As A Resource For Young People Within The Public Care System Across (But Not Exclusively) The West Midlands Region Including (But Without Limitation) By Providing Advice And Assistance And Organising Educational Programmes And Other Activities As A Means Of:(a) Advancing In Life And Helping Young People Within The Public Care System By Developing Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Independent, Mature And Responsible Individuals;(b) Advancing Education By Providing Access To An Extended Educational Programme, Educational Taster Sessions And Activities, Including (But Not Exclusively) Arts And Cultural Activities; And(c) Providing Support, Training And Personal Development Opportunities To Build Aspirations And Develop The Independence And Entrepreneurship Of Young People;3.1.2 The Promotion Of Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit Amongst Young People Who Are Within, Or Have Experienced The Public Care System, Who Are Socially Excluded By (But Without Limitation):(a) Helping Socially Excluded People Overcome Inequality And Disadvantage Arising As A Result Of Those People Being In, Or Having Experienced, The Public Care System; And(b) Promoting Equality Of Opportunities By Providing The Young People With Educational Opportunities To Allow Them To Have The Same Chances To Obtain Qualifications And Have Successful Future Careers As Those That Are Not In Or Experienced The Public Care System.3.2 For The Purposes Of This Clause 3, The Following Expressions Have The Following Meanings:3.2.1 "Socially Excluded" Means Being Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of Being Within The Public Care System.3.2.2 "West Midlands Region" Shall Include Such Geographical Or Local Authority Areas As The Trustees May In Their Absolute Discretion Determine From Time To Time, But For The Avoidance Of Doubt Shall Include Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-On-Trent, Telford And Wrekin, Warwickshire, Walsall, Wolverhampton And Worcestershire.
