WE opened the Beacon Shed during the first Rossendale Pride es'ertL beld at The Wbitsker Museum and Art Gallery, and organised by Sptxtrnm Incl￿810￿. Thts provided an opportimity for people visiting the event to come attd get Inforn￿tiOn about dementia and fmd out about our Servi￿. The first year implenLenting this new model of we at the Beacon Shd has been a rich learning experience. We have conwlted reguLarly with participants and their families, have learned about th¢ activities each of our participants enjoy and bave be6n able to taiLor our pmgramme to meet their needs. Il'e know that family ¢Arers hai'e mel each other through tbe B&acott Shed and that these supportive reiauonships bav¢ grown and tbrived and carers have helped e2ch other navigate the Gballenges faced by families affe£ted by thmeati& We have received lots of feedback about tbe Be&con Sbe& which helps us to evaluate the I￿paCt ofour work to shape future seTr'ices.' This serviee aims to build a tn￿ling Telationship through pro￿￿ding a series of one-twne se￿10n5, delivered in the parti¢ipallt$ home. These sessio1￿ are stNctured and ¢ailor¢d to each itidividual's interests and oi'er time, and aim ty build r0PPOrt iticrease wellbeing. We celebrated Volunteer's Week to express our Eiatitude for the time and skills they give freely ￿ the ¢hority. We were forttmate to have rec¢ived subslalltial donations d￿Illg 2023 from Mr John and Mrs Yi'oDne Malley, to gtAff the Beacon Shed for two yew.
