| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Blackpool, the area in which the charity operates, is one of the poorest areas in the UK and has a disproportionate number of homeless people and those living near the margins. Our sessions attract 40-60 people each week and all have benefited. Apart from a period when we were closed down due to Covid restrictions, our volunteers adapted operating methods and continued to offer an outdoor service to clients by erecting a gazebo at the hall door where food was served, and meeting clients at the rear door to give them food parcels etc. when they were not allowed inside due to social distancing rules. We have also steered clients towards government and other organisations to help them with specific problems such as homelessness. The charity worked in cooperation with the Local Authority and other charitable organisations to provide as wide a service aspossible duringCovid restrictions. |
