|Summary of the purposes of the<br>charity as set out in its governing<br>document|Para 1.17|The objects of the CIO, which shall be carried out<br>within a Christian ethos, are:<br>1)  For the public benefit, the prevention or relief<br>of poverty in the Blackpool Borough Council area<br>by the provision of food, items, advice,<br>information and support to people aged 18 and<br>over who are living in poverty as a result of<br>homelessness, being at risk of homelessness (by<br>virtue of being vulnerably housed) and financial<br>hardship.<br>2) To promote social inclusion for the public<br>benefit by preventing people who are aged 18 in<br>the Blackpool Borough Council area from<br>becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs<br>of those people who are socially excluded and<br>assisting them to integrate into society.<br>For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’<br>means being excluded from society, or part of<br>society, as a result of being a member of a<br>sociallyand economicallydeprived community.||

Small food parcels and urgently<br>needed items of clothing and personal hygiene<br>items are provided, where appropriate. Homeless<br>people may be provided with rucksacks and<br>sleeping bags. All attending are treated as guests<br>and are made welcome and befriended.|

|Summary of the main achievements<br>of the charity, identifying the<br>difference the charity’s work has<br>made to the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider benefits<br>to society as a whole.|Para 1.20|Blackpool, the area in which the charity operates,<br>is one of the poorest areas in the UK and has a<br>disproportionate number of homeless people and<br>those living near the margins. Our sessions attract<br>40-60 people each week and all have benefited.<br>Apart from a period when we were closed down<br>due to Covid restrictions, our volunteers adapted<br>operating methods and continued to offer an<br>outdoor service to clients by erecting a gazebo at<br>the hall door where food was served, and meeting<br>clients at the rear door to give them food parcels<br>etc. when they were not allowed inside due to<br>social distancing rules. We have also steered<br>clients towards government and other<br>organisations to help them with specific problems<br>such as homelessness. The charity worked in<br>cooperation with the Local Authority and other<br>charitable organisations to provide as wide a<br>service aspossible duringCovid restrictions.|
