Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the
charity, identifying the
difference the charity’s
work has made to the
circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any
wider benefits to society
as a whole.
Para 1.20 Maintenance of sports fields and recreation
ground:The grass has been cut at regular
intervals, the hedges have been trimmed to
comply with health and safety regulations, and
the recreation ground in general has been
maintained well. Winsham United Football Club
has been responsible for several extra grass cuts
to maintain the football fields to their own
standards.
Repairs to, and upgrading of, the pavilion:
Surveys were carried out to decide which repairs
and maintenance work was necessary and to
establish priorities for such work. A start was
made with upgrading the interior of the Pavilion
including thorough cleaning, repairs and painting
to professional standards. The loft was insulated
to improve energy efficiency and to reduce our
carbon footprint.
Establishment of Community Club:First steps
towards the establishment of such a club were
taken by drafting a constitution, rules, and by
pre-publicising this Club to inhabitants of the
Parish by printed and electronic communication
methods.
Start of recreational activities:Plans and
preparations were made for the opening of the
Pavilion in August 2021 linked to a ‘village fun

day’ with stalls and activities in order to introduce the village to the new facilities.

I state this to be a true and accurate account of the Winsham Recreational Trust income and expenses for the first financial year of the Trust. As the Trust was set up during this financial year, and the first income was booked in September 2020, while the first bills were paid in August, this was an unusual year.
