Tudor Community Sports Trust: Tudor Community Sports Ground, Tudor Road, Sutton Coldfield

Annual Report 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023

1.0 Context

1.1 During this financial year, the Trust focused on the full re-opening of bowls operations post-Covid pandemic. The Trust has operated essential facilities for crown green bowls and continued with the green restoration treatments and conducting various repairs and maintenance improvements to the pavilion and around the site in general.

1.2 Only the bowls facility is open and accessible for pay-as-you-go play through either the Royal British Legion League games or the Casual Bowlers group. Enjoying a full season from March to October for the first time in three years, meant opportunities to promote bowls play to new people through our annual Open day and other events. The bowls cohort of players has increased in response. More people are engaging with the Trust and the wider community and enjoying the opportunities to improve individual healthy lifestyles, better mental and physical well-being and overcome social isolation

1.3 The Trust is keen to set up various fundraising activities and get major contributions through donations and grants which can match future grant applications for a new modern pavilion; improved site access and parking improvements; and three new all-weather tennis courts with perimeter fencing and floodlights as set out in its planning permission.

1.4 During the end of this financial year the Trust began development work to gain traction during 2024 as follows:
