Our Letchworth Shed aims to reduce loneliness and isolalior¢ for primarity older and often retired men by developing that sense of personal Mlentity, and purpose and restoring the camaraderie which is so often lost after fetifement. We have undertaken community projects outside of our Farm locats"on, both as sources of income from donations and for the community These include the making a play mud kitchen for a local pre-school, a donabon food bank for a local primary schcx)l and refvrbishment of local bowls club benches. A significanl community project was taking on the refurbishment of a community garden in the ntre of the town, providing new raised beds and constnJction of a signature gazebo. All these works supported and carrted out ents'rely by our members as volunteers. For the second year, we have constructed a huge number of made-to-order Swift bird boxes for a nearby residential Swift action group. Our tally is now well over 80 boxes. The sharing of our workshop space on a sFecthc weekday with a local professional wcrf)dtuming group continues. In return for using our space the group offers expert woodturning and safety trainin9 that contsnues to benefit all our members. Skills leamt conts'nue to give purpose and supported Well￿1n9. Our trustees are also members and participate in our daily activities as well as managing our engagement with the wider community and finding ways to promote recognition in the community. This year we showcased our community credentials in being runners up in the Mens Sheds Community Project award for our engagement in Letchworth with the Heritage Foundation. SORP referen Our membership continues to grow, with many who have been meeting with us for more than 3 years and in some cases, 4 and more years. Summary ofthe main achievements of the charity, identifying the differen￿ the charity's work has made to the circumstan￿$ of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as whole. Para 1.20 Currently we have around 35 members and continue to attract interest. Oltr membership now includes 2 women who have undertaken skills training and tske part in many of our projects. We continue to provide a safe space for mainly retired men lo join us for camaraderie and companionship. We hold regular Tuesday and Friday Men's Shed sessions as well as a Thursday specific wood turning session that are well attended. Through 2025 we have been quite successful in raising our own funds through the making of seasonal items lo offer for donations as well as offering Items through events like a local Steam and Country Show and Christmas Fair. The regular sessions we hold and workshop activities we undertake substantially meet our charity objectives of fighting social isolation and loneliness, as well as bringing people together in common purpose.
