Para 1.20 The year following incorporation on March
20th2020 was of course the first year of the
COVID 19 pandemic. The steering group
swiftly moved meetings online and utilised
the Zoom platform. Two members used
their skills to make masks, both fabric using
newly acquired sewing machines and then
3D printed using a COVID relief grant from
the Northamptonshire Community
Foundation to purchase 3D printers and
consumables. The masks and stretchers
were given away free to key workers at
various NHS and Corby Council sites as
well as to volunteers working in the
Kingswood and Hazel Leys Community.
The 25 year lease for land on which the
shed was built was negotiated, agreed and
signed, along with final plans for
construction. Companies and tradespeople
to build the shed as well as electrical,
plumbing, carpentry and solar panel
installation were identified and agreed.

purpose built three room steel building

range of woodworking DIY, art sewing 3D
printing and photography equipment as well
as a space to prepare refreshments. Our
aim is to use this asset to invest in people
sharing skills, time and conversation.
Members can choose to work on individual
and community projects.
A description of the principal
risks facing the charity
Para 1.46 The principal risk was not raising sufficient
funds to construct and equip the shed. We
have made excellent progress on this front
though rising prices caused by the Covid
Pandemic and Brexit have strained our
finances. The charity continues to seek
grant funding and once the shed is open we
will have a clear idea of the sums needed
to keep it open.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Kingswood Hazel Leys Community in Sheds (Reg Charity 1188380)

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Kingswood Hazel Leys Community in Sheds for period 6[th] March 2020 to 31[st] March 2021.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
