The Foundation's full name is The West Herts Environmental Foundation. this can be shortened to WHEF. ves nd Activlti The objectives of the Foundation are to promote for the benefit of the public the advancement of envlronmental protection and improvement in West Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The activities during the year were: l. A grant of £1,500 was made to The Woodland Trust as a contribution to the maintenance and protection of the recent tree planting in Harrocks Wood by Rickmansworth, Herts. 2. A grant of £1.500 was made to The Serge Hill Project cic towards their environmental work in Bedmond. Herts with Schools and Communty groups. 3. The Foundation has raised signiticant sums from public donation5 and matched funding, donor nominated for opposition to the proposed expansion at Luton Airport and the consequent detrimental impact on the environment of West Herts. Grants totaling £25,474 were made during the year to Luton and District Association for the Control of Aircraft Noise I"LADACAN°I to contrlbute to their external costs of opposing the proposed expansion through a Judicial Review.
WEST HERTS ENVIRONMENTAL FOUNDATION TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2025 The Foundation 15 a charity with a long term time horizon seeking to make a positive impact on the environment in West Hertford5hire. The impart of the Foundation's various initiative5 will also be long term. The Foundation's grant making performance, raising £74.338 lincluding Gift Aid) and making grants of £28.474 was satisfactory. Further significant grants have already been made in the 2025126 financial year. The Foundation's expenses have been kept to £350, less than 0.1% of ndS raised. The Trustees would like to thank those that have given their time without charge, including the Hon Treasurer, Mr. Graham Meager and the Independent Examiner, Mr. Pierre Okusi. The Trustees of the Foundation have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on publlc benefFt. Fina Donations of £67,576 were received during the year. Administrative costs of £350 were incurred during the year by the Foundation and made donations of £28,474 resulting in a prolit of £45,514.
