Basls of Independent Examlner's Report My examination was carried out in accordancewrth the Charity Commission's Directions. It also includes consideration of any unusual iterns or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations trom the tiustees concerning any such matters. The charity raises funds to be distributed for public benefit lo local amateur sports clubs for children and young people in Surrey, Greater London, Bristol and Gloucestershire and lo individual children or young people in Surrey, Greater London, Bristol and Gloucestershire who may be held back by their financial situation from pursuing their spotting goals. Grants are used for Purposes such as providing transport. kit or reSoUr￿S necessary for a child who would othewise be precluded from participating due lo cost. Provide facilities for training and matches to registered amateur sports clubs in the local community including kit, playing equipment, coaches and defibfillalors. Beneficiaries complete an application form and Trustees consider applications in line with the charities Grant Giving Policy. All applications for funding musl meet the charities objects, support the charities goals and values and meet the charities grant making policy. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main aehievemants of tho charlty during the year This is the fourth annual report for the charity, having been constituted and r￿IStered by the Charity Commission in FÈbruary 2020. As a fundraising charity that awards grants we have used this year to continue fundraising efforts, forge partnerships and award grants. Our Defibri1118 Campaign continues lo fund defibrillators for sports clubs for children and young people in the areas we cover. STF have continued lo work in partnership with registered charity AED Donate who provide essential first aid se￿iceS through the placement of Defibrillators through community fundraising. This venture allows us to uti1ise AED Donate's expertise in sourcing, installing and trainin9 around defibrillators and STF'S ftjnds. Applicants for funding for defibrillators complete an STF application form and Trustees consider applications is line with the charities Grant Glvlng Policy. Funds have ￿en raised thls year via.. Events- a Charity Golf Day in Bristol (Steve's hometown) which raised funds and awareness via this event. Individual glvlng - a small number ol flnancial gifts were received throughout the year by individual donors. Merchandi8o- a range of shirts and h¢)odies were designed and sold to raise funds. Corporate glving- our ¢harily partnership with Miller Insurance continued this financial year. Our first annual fundraising dinner with Miller also took placa, Durlng 2023124 tho followlng gran18 wero awarded: Panathlon Foundatlon- for a third year we continued to fund the delivery of a sports programme for disabled children at The Children, Trust in Surrey Rudy Talboy$ {Wakeboarderl - to help with coslg of training, travel, insurance and competition for the year 202312024 enabling Rudy to Compete al the highest level, lo represent Team GB. This application posed a ¢onflicl of interest for Trustees, so the charity commission was consulted and advice followed. Woy Island Tru8t- oui grant helps the Trust to continue to support over 1000 deprived children from Inner London boroughs each year al their secluded riverside activity centre in Surrey. In partnership with AED Donate we also funded defibrillators for use during a¢tivities. Make them Smlle Foundatlon - STF fund coaching, equipment and travel for 14-year-old Toby Richardson from Gloucestershire who is wheelchair rugby and basketball player and a wheelchair racer and alhlele. This is the first of a two-year commilmenl to fund these costs via Make them Smile Foundation. We would like lo thank our Individual supporters and donors, and Miller Insurance for the funds they have most generously donated lo the charity during this period. TAR March 2012
