This questlon has vexed the most gifted and successful church leaders. If the statistic5 are anythlng to 80 by, the church In the UK ha5 largely not answered the question. While the trend5 are complex and often a￿ear bleak, there are Incre&ng ￿9n$ of hope. NC4￿thele5s, It is clear-to me at least-that a new approach is rewired. Indeed. need a williwness to ￿brace a ne+¥ type of entrepreneurial leadershlp that thrfves on creatln# ￿thIng out of nothlng. This Is generally counter-cultural in the estsbllshed church. However. this is exactly vthat happer*d when Flnch. the Vicar at Salnt Mary's Southampton, recognlsed thls entreprenaJrial leader5hlp talent In TrtSt￿. Not only did he recogn15e the talent, but he alw suprxjrted and released It. We are extremely qrateful to hlm. and Saint Matys for their generosity and for pr¢Nfiding the seedbed for thts venture.
