Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	To advance public education and participation in, and appreciation of, Iranian/Persian culture, tradition, language, history, music, poetry, film and theatre, in particular but not exclusively by: I. Organising public performance II. Educational workshops and talks III. Promoting the study and research of Iranian and Persian arts and literature and to make the results of these studies and research accessible to the general public IV. The provision of grants for related projects
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	During 2022 we have organised: 1- The 13thAnnual Poetry Prize for young Persian Poets (normally originated from Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan and the diaspora), in which around 182 young poets, under the age of 30, took part). 2- Organised 3 Poetry events, for the benefit of Persian Speaking Diaspora in the UK by well-known poets from Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan. More than 260 attended and over 4000 viewed the videos online after the event. 4- Ten Talks and debates on recent novels and literary works were held online with more than 850 people attending live and hundreds more viewing the proceedings of each event after the vent.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	In line with our objectives (i), (ii) and (iii) our work benefited the Persian Speaking people, in particular young people, engaging with their mother tongue culture in England. It is estimated that more than 3800 people have benefited by taking part in our events and many more viewing the material online after the events.
