Teej is one of the most colourful festivals celebrated by Nepali women, and this year’s celebration in Nottingham was a spectacular display of tradition and empowerment. The event paid homage to the role of women in Nepali society—as mothers, sisters, and pillars of culture. Women celebrated through traditional songs and dances that expressed joy, pain, devotion, and freedom.
