Objectives and Activities

The relief of the elderly and others who are in need due to loneliness and / or social isolation by providing a dog or cat as a companion. 2. For the public benefit the relief of suffering and prevention of cruelty for cats and dogs by finding a suitable home for them.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	Para 1.17 and 1.19	We find homes for dogs and cats that are in need of short term or longer term fostering or adoption due to changes in their circumstances eg an owner needing hospital care or passing away. Similarly we help to find foster homes for dogs which have been rescued from the streets wherever that may be. We fund this by eans of donations from our supporters and by our own fundraising activities such as bingo, raffles, and quizzes.

Contribution made by volunteers	Para 1.38	Our fosterers are all volunteers who re- imbursed for any expenditure on food if requested although the charity meets any Vet bills as they arise. Other volunteers help by gathering in bingo and raffle prizes and assisting at our fundraising sessions.

Para 1.20	Since our registration in 2020 we have rescued, assessed, and settled 74 dogs into new homes. This has directly benefitted lo74nely people and, by extension, family members as well, plus of course the animals themselves. We know that loneliness is the unseen illness and we feel that we make a contribution to wider society by reducing, albeit in a small way, demand on our health services. Feedback tells us that our activities have the desired beneficial effect on those we support and this includes those attending our fundraising, social, events.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	This is now in need of a boost due to the lack of grants during the last year. However our Trustees are starting a regular programme of fund raising events which will rapidly improve the financial position.
Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held	Para 1.22	The welfare of our dogs is paramount and the majority of our expenditure is on Vets bills. We must have a reserve fund to cover any unexpected condition in a dog which needs immediate attention.
