1. Chairman’s Report
Diane Dolley, Chairman, welcomed everyone to the third AGM of Chaddesley Community Care Charity. She reported that we had all now become used to meeting on the second Wednesday of the month, following the enforced closuring during the Covid Pandemic. We continue to use local talent for our live entertainment each month; occasionally we go further afield and sometimes even pay performers. On a regular basis we appreciate the many offers we received from our wider community, who offer their services for free. Both Chaddesley and Winterfold schools perform for us on an annual basis and seem to enjoy regularly entertaining and meeting with us. In March we were entertained by the Malarkey Ukulele Band which were much enjoyed and will be joining us again next year. A new group will be performing for us in August when we will be entertained by a Flamenco Group, which is quite an exciting prospect. Following our entertainment in May we shared a Coronation Afternoon Tea which was quite a highlight. Thanks to the efforts of Yvonne a grant was secured to fund the refreshments. It was a lovely afternoon. We will be visiting Hartlebury Castle on September 13[th] , which will include Afternoon Tea for all who join us. Thanks again to Yvonne for securing the finance to fund this outing.
The Trustees remain indebted to the local community for continued support for the Care Café. This includes the Chaddesley Surgery and St Cassians Church. We are appreciative of the donations over the year received from individuals and groups which include Chaddesley Parish Council, Elmbridge Parish Council, Wyre Forest District and Worcestershire County Councils. A recent Surgery fund raising initiative should result in donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Chaddesley Care Café.
Teresa, Lynn and I completed the Resistance Band Training for Trainers course and hope to organise another session beginning in September. Many of our original participants wish to continue with this activity and we may have space for some new members.
Finally, my thanks to the Trustees who continue to give their time and energy to support the development of our charity. Our volunteers are amazing and prepare the room each month for our activities and provide a very warm welcome to all. Thank you also to Lynn for organising our refreshments and the splendid homemade cakes. Please continue to support us.
