Objectives and Activities

Establish and manage a community choir in one or more areas

To provide facilities which promote the practice or enjoyment of the art of music for recreation and other leisure time occupation and to make them available in the interests of social welfare to individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large with the object of improving conditions of life

To further such exclusively charitable purposes for the public benefit according to the law of England and Wales as the charity trustees shall in their absolute discretion determine
-
To advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit, including through presentation of public concerts and recitals
Achievements and Performance
In this period, Side by Side have been successful in securing several financial and technological grants to enable them to continue to support its members throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been a great success and has meant that we have been able to return to face-to-face rehearsals at a safe and appropriate time.
Financial Review
Side by Side is looking financially stable and viable currently with a balance of £7393.14 in the bank account and £100 in the petty cash tin. It is certain that Side by Side can continue to operate under its current provisions and look to expand.
Structure, Governance and Management
Side by Side currently has a small board of trustees consisting of 3 people, recruitment for new trustees is on-going. Side by Side hold a Constitution as the Governing Document and is constituted as a CIO. To appoint trustees, we open an application period for all to apply and then select an applicant based on skill, experience and passion. In instances where a trustee is to be appointed, the trustees at that time take a vote based on the information held at that time.
