Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

During 2023 the membership of the club has remained steady at a healthy level.

The club has kept close control of outgoings this year particularly the use of energy as the prices were high during the year. The previous conversion of the floodlights to LEDs has significantly reduced our electricity consumption and hence cost.

There were no significant capital expenditures during the period, with the club continuing to build our reserve/ sinking funds for a future resurfacing of 3 of our courts, which is hoped for in 2025.

We held a Learning Disability Tournament, followed by a barbecue, in the summer which was attended by the Mayor of Bournemouth. We also run taster sessions for Dorset Community foundation for children with Autism and with Poole Hospital Physios for children with a physical impairment. Over 20 children attended.

Additionally, we have been selected to run a programme of courses for Help for Heroes.

Our Pickleball court is now a popular attraction, in regular use, and attracts players that may otherwise not attend our club.
